Hello dear readers, fellow martial artists and other curious passers through. Firstly, I wanted to tell all of you I am super grateful to each of you for taking the time to read my random musings on martial arts. I’ve seen some of these articles getting traffic and even liked (some more so than others, this one seems to be the most popular so far) and I appreciate it.
Secondly, I wanted to acknowledged that I haven’t posted in a little over 2 weeks. I’ve read that in order to be a successful blogger you have to post regularly and reliably, but then again… what is success? Not to digress though… As it stands, I remain dedicated to the topic of martial arts, and my goal is to make this more than a blog. I would also like to add a video component to this, spanning many topics: instructional videos, interviews and discussions with other martial artists from different schools or disciplines, and even educational videos that delve into the history of certain martial arts or explore the connections between various disciplines. I’d also like to eventually create an online store. There really is a ton of stuff I would like to bring to the table that I think will really be useful to the martial arts community.
However, all journeys start somewhere, and right now I am currently a one-man show, learning a lot of new things. In other words, I may be a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but I am only a white belt in things like website management & maintenance, ecommerce, business planning, video production, etc. I am learning as I go, and as the old saying goes, the more you learn, the more you realize you don’t really know. However, I might metaphorically be a blue belt in writing and art, so I suppose it all balances out.
Anyhow, I am in the process of rebranding and switching domains, but still keeping the same content. I have rough drafts for several new articles that I am excited about and can’t wait to show you. I will keep you all posted.
Also, if you are a new martial artist and have questions you think I might be able to help with, feel free to contact me. Or if you you have a suggestion for a topic you’d like me to cover. Or if you just wanna talk about martial arts in general. Anyhow, thank you all for reading, happy training and remember to breathe.
